Company Registration Portal to represent Estonia at 2007 European Enterprise Awards

The Company Registration Portal has been chosen at the Tunnusta ettevõtluse edendajat /Recognise promoters of enterprise/ awards ceremony held at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications to represent Estonia at the 2007 European Enterprise Awards.
The portal also won the Red Tape Reduction Award, which recognises measures taken to simplify administrative procedures for companies, especially new businesses.
<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Sirje Rogova, the director of the Centre of Registers and Information Systems at the Ministry of Justice, says that the Company Registration Portal is a huge help in speeding up company development. “And that in turn is the basis of every country’s economic growth,” she remarked.
“The Company Registration Portal is an excellent application that will go a long way to strengthening the reputation of Estonia as an e-state,” said Keit Kasemets, chairman of the jury for the Tunnusta ettevõtluse edendajat awards. He also highlighted the sustainability of the solution and a number of innovative aspects it boasts compared to some similar solutions used elsewhere in Europe.
The European Enterprise Awards are a competition launched by European Commission Vice President Günter Verheugen in November 2005 that recognise and reward outstanding initiative programmes supporting enterprise at the regional level.
The awards have four goals:
To identify and recognise activities and initiatives that support the promotion of enterprise and successful companies.
To introduce and share the experiences of the best examples of entrepreneurial policies and practices.
To raise awareness of the role of entrepreneurs in society.
To encourage and inspire the entrepreneurs of the future.
